This fully online program offers the flexibility to complete your degree at your own pace, making it ideal for working adults, career changers, and those balancing multiple responsibilities. The RBA degree is unique in its approach, allowing students to bring together prior credits, online coursework, and experiential learning for a personalized academic experience. Eligible students may also receive credit for documented professional, volunteer, and military experiences through our Experience-Based Credit (EBC) portfolio process.

The Associate of Applied Science in Board of Governors (AAS-BOG) at Allegheny Valley College is a flexible, degree completion program crafted for adult learners aiming to achieve academic, professional, or personal milestones. Tailored to support career advancement and educational accomplishment, the AAS-BOG recognizes and values prior learning experiences by allowing students to earn credit for certifications, licenses, military service, and other non-collegiate sources.
This 60-credit degree includes 15 credit hours of general education across essential areas like communication, mathematics and science, social science and humanities, and computer literacy. The remaining 45 credits consist of general electives, providing ample flexibility and opportunities for customization to meet individual career goals. Students will be given an Area of Emphasis based on credit subject area, to gain a specialized focus that aligns with their academic background. The benefit of the AAS-BOG is that there is no “major” – so if student’s credits do not apply in an available emphasis, the student can still be granted an AAS-BOG without an area of emphasis.
